WWE will deliver the edition of Friday Night SmackDown 7/24/26 from the Oakland Arena in Oakland, California. The show will address the aftermath from SNME, while continuing the build towards SummerSlam, possibly announcing more matches.

Cody Rhodes, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, CM Punk, Gunther, and Trick Williams are listed as featured superstars for the show. The main event of the show saw CM Punk and Cody Rhodes take on Gunther and Sami Zayn, with the stipulation that if the latter two win, they will be added to the title showdown between Punk and Rhodes at SummerSlam. However, Nick Aldis, who was absent from programming since the attack by Gunther, returned during the match to attack and cost him the match. WWE has already announced the showdown between the two for SummerSlam.

Last week, acting GM Adam Pearce announced a ladder match for the Interim WWE Women’s Champion at SummerSlam as WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley remains out of action due to an injury. Two qualifying matches for the match have already concluded last week, and now a third will take place in Oakland. In the second qualifying match last week, Jade Cargill took on Nia Jax. However, Charlotte Flair, determined to get some payback on Jade & co. for the attack on Alexa Bliss two weeks ago, targeted Michin and B-Fab ringside before stepping into the ring to take out Cargill. This ended the match in disqualification, handing Jade the win. Later in the show, Jax, along with Lash Legend, complained to acting GM Pearce about the interference. Pearce announced a qualifying match between Nia and Flair for the July 24 show, granting Jax another chance after Flair cost her the first one.

World Wrestling Entertainment has confirmed a stacked lineup for the July 24 edition of WWE SmackDown, with Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk and his SummerSlam challenger Cody Rhodes set to appear just weeks before their blockbuster title clash. The rivalry intensified at Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Punk and Rhodes joined forces in tag team action. Although the duo emerged victorious, the post-match celebration took an awkward turn when Punk casually threw the championship over his shoulder, with the title belt accidentally striking Rhodes in the face. The moment added another layer of tension to their increasingly heated feud heading into SummerSlam.

In the women’s division, Chelsea Green will face Kiana James in an Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match qualifying bout, with the winner earning a coveted spot in the championship contest. Rhea Ripley is out injured, so WWE decided to create an interim women’s championship that will go to the winner of a 5-woman ladder match at SummerSlam. Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill both qualified for the match last week. Charlotte Flair vs. Nia Jax takes place tonight in another qualifying bout. This match came about after Flair was a giant dumbass and got Jax disqualified in last week’s qualifier against Jade. Considering that Flair vs. Cargill was likely the original plan for SummerSlam, I’d be shocked if The Queen fails to advance to the SummerSlam ladder match, where Jade is already waiting for her.
