WWE is scheduled to arrive in France with a PLE event in 2024. WWE has revealed that WWE Backlash France is set to happen on May 4, 2024, in Lyon-Decines, France. This event marks the inaugural Premium Live Event to be broadcast from France. The announcement includes the May 3, 2024, episode of SmackDown, which will also be broadcast live from France preceding the Backlash PLE. WWE has previously broadcast televised shows in France, featured on the French channel Canal+. The last was in April 1993, showcasing Yokozuna’s victory over Jim Duggan in the main event. In 2023, WWE hosted Backlash in Puerto Rico, marking it as the highest-grossing and most-viewed Backlash in the company’s history. During the main event, Cody Rhodes secured a victory against Brock Lesnar in a one-on-one match. As of now, no matches have been officially announced for the Backlash 2024 PLE, and WWE has not included any superstar photos in the promotional poster. WWE Backlash 2024 will see the promotion hosting their first PLE in France. The event will feature Cody Rhodes defending Universal Championship against AJ Styles. Damian Priest will also be in action to defend World Heavyweight Championship against Jey Uso. Cody Rhodes is coming up on a month as champion since winning the Undisputed Universal Championship from Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL night two. For his first PLE title defense, there was a tournament to determine the next title challenger, and it provided quite the opponent. After defeating LA Knight in the final of the eliminator tournament, AJ Styles now finds himself in a position to pull a major upset. Having just won the title, many are expecting Rhodes’ reign to be a long and fruitful one but Styles hopes to be the one to derail those plans.Match Card:
