The bout has drawn comparisons to Warrington’s two meetings with another dangerous Mexican, when he lost and drew against Mauricio Lara in successive fights before knocking out Kiko Martinez in March.
“We know that he has power and that he knows how to beat people down,” Warrington said. “He thinks he’s going to do what his Mexican friend did, come here and kill me,” added the Brit.
El Venado will face the great fight of his career: for the first time he will fight for a world title. The Mexicali-born will travel to England for the second time: last year there he beat Isaac Lowe.
