UFC 279: Diaz vs. Ferguson 9/10/22,was supposed to be a christening of Khamzat Chimaev as the #1 challenger as he was expected to deal with Nate Diaz easily. However, he now finds himself facing Kevin Holland in the co-main event after a bad weight miss.
Tony Ferguson finds himself in the main event now to face Nate Diaz in a five-round welterweight bout. Both men have not tasted wins in the past year or so. Who will come out on the top in this last-minute arrangement?
Before the co-main event, Li Jingliang will be facing Daniel Rodriguez in a catchweight bout at 180 lbs. Macy Chiasson takes on Irene Aldana and Johnny Walker clashes with Ion Cutelaba to complete the main card.
