The October 31 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. The episode will serve as the go-home show of the November 1 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Multiple top stars, including Cody Rhodes, Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Jacob Fatu, Chelsea Green, and Sami Zayn, among others, are being advertised for the show. Stars set to battle on Saturday will also meet for the final time ahead of SNME. During last week’s show, while Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair were being interviewed by Cathy Kelley, Nia Jax interrupted, calling them cute for pretending to be best friends, and said she was just waiting for one to stab the other in the back. Charlotte responded, saying that was a projection.

Last week, Carmelo Hayes addressed the situation with The Miz in a backstage segment. He acknowledged that while everyone expected him to berate Miz, he respected him as a future Hall of Famer and a teacher, but couldn’t forgive Miz putting his hands on him. He believed they were even now and didn’t seek revenge. He is now focused on his destiny on SmackDown. Kit Wilson interrupted the segment, accusing Hayes of poisoning young minds with his hyper-masculine language. Hayes responded and challenged him to a match this week. The two will lock horns on the October 31 show. Jax replied that she had been in a friendship like that but had learned from the best, glaring pointedly at Bliss. Alexa acknowledged that people change, but if Jax was looking for the old her, she wasn’t hard to find. Jax then challenged her to a match for this week, and Alexa accepted, setting up the clash.

As confirmed by the newly crowned United States Champion, Ilja Dragunov, the US title Open Challenge will go on, and the Champion will issue another open challenge this week. Dragunov kicked off the open challenge last week against Aleister Black and, despite interferences from Zelina Vega, managed to retain the title. Additionally, during last week’s show, Kit Wilson interrupted Carmelo Hayes’ interview with Cathy Kelley, where Hayes was discussing his fallout with The Miz. Wilson cut him off, accusing Hayes of “poisoning young minds” with his hyper-masculine language.
