The upcoming September 19 episode of Friday Night SmackDown is set to air live from the Huntington Center in Toledo, Ohio. The show will serve as the go-home show for Wrestlepalooza, which is set for Saturday.

Stars set to clash on the PLE will meet for the final time in Ohio. Multiple big names, including Brock Lesnar, Tiffany Stratton, Randy Orton, Jade Cargill, and Jacob Fatu, are being advertised for the show. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes made his return in the final moments of last week’s show. Rhodes returned to settle the score with Drew McIntyre while saving Randy Orton. Rhodes then challenged McIntyre for a title clash at the upcoming Wrestlepalooza. WWE has made the match official for Saturday, and ahead of the title defense, Rhodes is set to make an appearance on the go-home show this Friday. Rhodes will likely cut a promo as the lack of time for the build-up might affect the anticipation among fans.

A number of weeks ago, Sami Zayn officially commissioned the “Sami Zayn U.S. Open Challenge” where he’ll have United States Title defense against anyone who would want it. Thus far, he has defended it against concept originator John Cena, as well as last week in a compelling and successful title defense against Rey Fenix. This week, he battles “The 1” in the form of Carmelo Hayes. Melo has been hunting for gold as of late, with Melo Don’t Miz wanting to challenge for the WWE Tag Team Titles, held by The Wyatt Sicks. For this SmackDown, he needs to set that aside, as he focuses on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Two weeks ago, Sami Zayn launched the “Sami Zayn U.S. Open Challenge,” offering anyone the chance to challenge him for the United States Title. In his first title defense, he battled John Cena, and last week defeated Rey Fenix in a thrilling matchup. This week, Zayn faces Carmelo Hayes. Melo, who managed to convince GM Nick Aldis for the match last week, despite his tag partner, The Miz, advocating for a tag title shot against the Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis).
