The WWE WrestlePalooza PPV is set for Saturday, September 20, 2025, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The Stamford-based promotion is currently preparing for the first Premium Live Event on ESPN. The first-ever Wrestlepalooza will kick off the ESPN era this weekend.
The name Wrestlepalooza was originally used for an ECW event series that ran from 1995 to 2000. Its most prominent edition was the 1998 pay-per-view, headlined by Shane Douglas defending the ECW World Heavyweight Championship against Al Snow. Multiple big names, including John Cena, Brock Lesnar, AJ Lee, CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, and Seth Rollins, among others, are set to compete on the show. The show on September 20 is the exact same day as AEW All Out in Toronto and will mark the first instance of a main roster PLE going head-to-head with AEW.
Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer will collide for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship at Wrestlepalooza. There is an expectation that WWE will strap the rocket on La Primera due to her high internal praise as a top star, which could see Vaquer walk out of the PLE as the new champion. Jimmy and Jey Uso will reunite to battle the powerhouse duo of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in a tag team match. Witnessing recent tensions and differences of opinion between The Usos, it could ultimately cost them the match against the members of The Vision at Wrestlepalooza.
Cody Rhodes made his return to SmackDown last week to get some measure of revenge on Drew McIntyre for his attack weeks ago. With the duo set to collide at Wrestlepalooza for the Undisputed WWE championship, Rhodes is not expected to drop his title in his first defense since winning it at SummerSlam. The storied WWE rivals, John Cena and Brock Lesnar, will collide for the last time at Wrestlepalooza. The Never Seen 17 has a total of 99 wins in WWE, and the company might give him his 100th victory at the expense of The Beast, not before delivering a hard-hitting showdown between the two megastars. WWE Wrestlepalooza will feature a huge mixed tag team match between wrestling power couples, CM Punk & AJ Lee against Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. The fans are expected to cheer loudly for Punk and Lee. Moreover, this will be the Black Widow’s first match after a decade, so they are expected to win the showdown at WWE’s debut PLE on ESPN.
Rey Fenix has been one of the most exciting additions to WWE in recent memory. Known for his breathtaking aerial offense, the former AEW star brings an energy few can match. His recent Open Challenge clash with Sami Zayn reminded fans just how electric he can be.Despite his popularity, Fenix has lost too many matches since arriving in WWE. The solution is simple: put a mid-card title around his waist. With veterans like Randy Orton and The Miz already established, it’s time for newer stars like Fenix to shine. Carmelo Hayes showed flashes of brilliance the moment he stepped on SmackDown. His showdown with Cody Rhodes during his first run as Undisputed WWE Champion revealed that Hayes can already hang with the very best. He has charisma, confidence, and in-ring skill, the full package. But despite his early promise, Hayes has been stuck in inconsistent feuds. WWE must give him the same treatment Bron Breakker received, placing him in title-level storylines. After WrestlePalooza, Hayes should be elevated toward either a mid-card belt or even a world title chase.
