Raw Monday Night 3/9/26 Live from the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, Washington, will continue to intensify feuds and storylines for WrestleMania 42.
In her promo last week, after capturing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental title, AJ Lee stated that she wants to be a fighting Champion and will defend the title next time she is in the ring. Fans can expect another explosive show with new twists, surprise confrontations, and exciting developments that could shape the road to the ‘Grandest Stage.’ CM Punk, Rhea Ripley, Jey Uso, Penta, and Becky Lynch are listed as featured superstars. Later in the show, WWE announced a gauntlet match to crown the number one contenders for the Women’s IC title. Lyra Valkyria, Bayley, Iyo Sky, Raquel Rodriguez, Asuka, and Ivy Nile will clash in a gauntlet match to secure a title shot against the newly crowned Champion.
After their intense showdown, which ended in a brawl, where Oba Femi stood tall, tossing Rusev over the ropes, the two superstars are now set to clash in a singles match this week. Both men have no love lost between them, and after the brawl last week, fans are expecting an explosive showdown in Seattle. Additionally, the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion Penta will defend the title in his first appearance since capturing the title last week against “Original” El Grande Americano this Monday. New Women’s Intercontinental Champion AJ Lee will also return in WWE 2K26. She hasn’t been a playable character in the game since 2015. So the chance to create dream matches with her will appeal to gamers. WWE is setting up a dream match at WWE WrestleMania 42 for AJ Lee. A big-money IC Title defence seems a guarantee.
That’s not to say there isn’t a potential WrestleMania-level opponent in the gauntlet. Lyra Valkria, Bayley, IYO SKY, Raquel Rodriguez, and Asuka would all make great ‘Mania opponents. Then there’s Ivy Nile. Either way, it is hard to see past Becky Lynch getting involved. Poor Dominik Mysterio is cursed now. Danhausen cursed “Dirty” Dom and his “Judgement Day” brethren last week. Mysterio lost his WWE Intercontinental Championship to Penta moments after the curse was placed on him. It will be interesting to see how Mysterio works to get this curse lifted. Finn Bálor owes Mysterio one after preventing JD McDonagh from giving him the ring hammer to use against Penta. With clouded judgment like that, we can only presume that Danhausen’s curse was extended to the entire “Judgment Day” boys.
