WWE NXT Heatwave 2024 PLE is scheduled for July 7, 2024, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada. The event takes place in the same weekend and same location as Money in the Bank 2024 PLE which takes place on July 6,with the main card starting at 7 pm ET. The pre-show is set to begin at 6 pm ET. WWE announced in January 2024 that NXT Heatwave will return as a PLE to take place on July 7 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, after SmackDown on July 5 and Money in the Bank on July 6. Heatwave series returned in WWE as NXT Weekly special in 2022 and 2023. This is the third event under Heatwave under NXT while being the 10th event overall in the series. Karmen Petovic & Arianna Grace will be facing Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx in a tag team match at the NXT Heatwave PPV. As per speculations, Jacy Jayne & Jazmyn Nyx will defeat Petrovic & Grace and will move on ending their feud. Andre Chase & Duke Hudson of Chase University won the Tag Team Turmoil match to become the #1 Contenders for the tag team title. They will now face Nathan Frazer & Axiom for the NXT Tag Team Championship at the pay-per-view. Frazer and Axiom has been having internal tensions within them, as Frazer is blamed to be taking the titles and Axiom lite, over other challenges. As per speculations, Chase U will defeat Axiom & Frazer to become the NXT Tag Team Champions for the second time and the problem between Frazer and Axiom will continue. WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appeared on NXT June 11 episode to announce a 25-Man Battle Royal to take place the following week. The winner of this Battle Royal would challenge NXT Champion Trick Williams at Heatwave. Cody also said that the participants of this match might be from different rosters, teasing involvement of TNA Wrestling talent. Je’Von Evans won the Battle Royal to get a title shot. Ethan Page defeated Evans in a singles match later on the same episode. During June 18 NXT episode, it was announced that a tag team turmoil match would take place the following week and the winner of that match would get a shot at Tag Team Championship at Heatwave.
