The 02/19 episode of Dynamite which will emanate live from the Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The trip to Australia also included tapings for AEW & ROH: Global Wars and the promotion also revealed the lineup for this week episode of Dynamite.
The Jacksonville-based promotion delivered as promised on its first show in Australia and is now prepared with its weekly programming. The first trip to Australia for the AEW Grand Slam Australia also set the stage for the upcoming AEW Revolution 2025. Furthermore, in his Dynamite return, Orange Cassidy will battle The Undisputed Kingdom’s Roderick Strong in singles action. This will be a rematch from their earlier meeting from last year’s Revolution PPV. The clash is part of the AEW Revolution International Championship Series. The winner of this match will challenge Takeshita for the AEW International Championship on the February 26th episode of AEW Dynamite. Elsewhere, the returning Samoa Joe leads his team of HOOK and Katsuyori Shibata (The Ops) on an assault against The Patriarchy. Christian Cage has slipped away with luck on his side. Cage has missed out on his comeuppance and left his sons to pay for their father’s sins.
Phoenix will also be treated with the start of the Revolution International Championship Series. Kenny Omega will face Konosuke Takeshita in LA, if he can retain next week against the winner of a rematch from last year’s event. Riding the momentum of destruction and violence from AEW’s Collision Homecoming, Powerhouse Hobbs and Big Bill are bringing beef in all definitions of the word. Two of the most physically imposing and heavy-hitting members of the locker room are going to slap meat. From the moment Big Bill threw a brick at Hobbs, the intensity rose. Both men went off the stage and through tables. Waiting for clearance, Hobbs threatened and returned to put the seven-foot giant on his back last week. This street fight is going to allow and bring all kinds of weaponry, potential big man spots, and possibly blood into this contest. Likely also some interference from The Learning Tree for Big Bill. Yet, on his side, Hobbs has Bandido and The Outrunners. If AEW knows one thing, it’s how to produce violent splendor and make plunder matches pop. Some will be watching closely also to see if this will be the turning point moment for Big Bill. The moment that will push the Redwood to tower above The Learning Tree.
From the first AEW All Out, MJF and Hangman Adam Page were signposted as men who would lead the company. Each character, like Jon Moxley and The Young Bucks, and the wider Elite are not the same individuals who first joined this company. As seen on the last Dynamite, Hangman joked that MJF is perhaps caught in some arrested development, using material that would not have been out of place with his slightly younger self. In return, MJF highlighted how the current warped-by-rage persona of Page isn’t truly him. This collision seemed destined. Judging from fan reactions in Texas and online, the hopes and expectations for where this old feud leads are high.
