AEW recorded the May 17th episode of AEW Collision from NOW Arena in Chicago, IL on May 14th. The wrestlers on Saturday’s AEW Collision card bring variety to the buffet. There’s something on offer for everyone, which is becoming the norm for Saturday nights.
The Steve “Mongo” McMichael tribute was hosted by Tony Schiavone. Mongo’s wife, Misty, came out and said he was the most special person in her life. She talked about his impact in football and wrestling. Dean Malenko was introduced, and Schiavone spoke about Mongo’s football achievements. He also mentioned his wrestling career and that May was ALS Awareness Month. Then Ric Flair came out and hugged everyone. Flair said Chicago was one of the best wrestling cities ever. He remembered losing the World Title there to Ricky Steamboat and said the crowd was always loud and full of energy. He said AEW was giving fans a chance to celebrate McMichael.
