AEW Double or Nothing 2026 PPV 5/24/26 will take place during the Memorial Day weekend on Sunday, at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York, U.S.A. With Memorial Day weekend approaching, AEW fans are gearing up for the eighth edition of Double or Nothing.
Among the matches announced for the show, the AEW International title match, where Kazuchika Okada will defend the title against Konosuke Takeshita, while AEW World Tag Team Champions FTR (Cash Wheeler & Dax “The Axe” Harwood) will defend their titles against Christian Cage and Adam Copeland, collectively known as Cage and Cope, in an I Quit match. On the other hand, Thekla will defend the AEW Women’s World title in a fatal four-way match against Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter, and Kris Statlander. The match will mark the first time in history that four women who have held the AEW Women’s World title will compete for the title.
A 14-man Stadium Stampede match has also been added to the card where Jericho, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin), and The Elite (Kenny Omega, “Jungle” Jack Perry, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) will take on The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona), The Don Callis Family (Mark Davis & Andrade El Idolo), and The Dogs (Clark Connors & David Finlay). Two quarter-final matches for the men’s Owen Hart Foundational Tournament have also been announced. Samoa Joe will take on Will Ospreay, while Bandido battles Swerve Strickland. In the women’s Owen Hart Tournament Quarterfinal match, Willow Nightingale collides with Alex Windsor. Meanwhile, Jon Moxley defends the AEW Continental title against Kyle O’Reilly in a match with no time limit.
Furthermore, the AEW World title rematch is finally announced as reigning Champion Darby Allin defends against former Champion MJF in a title vs hair match, which means if Darby wins, MJF will have to shave his head. The match is one of the main attractions for the PPV and is likely going to headline the event. Bandido has had a plethora of opportunities to showcase his potential in the main event scene ever since losing the tag team titles with Brody King. However, those “rubs” he had against MJF won’t be enough to defeat former World Champ Swerve Strickland in the first round of this tournament. Swerve still has to regain momentum after losing his shot at the World Title against Kenny Omega.
This title match is a callback to when Kyle O’ Reilly made Jon Moxley tap out twice in 2025. This feud was put on hold since O’Reilly dealt with a broken arm injury that kept him off TV for months before returning to win the trios titles with the Conglomeration at AEW Dynasty in April. With no time limit, Moxley will not tap out again and thereby solidify his leadership of the Death Riders. Like Swerve, Samoa Joe is a former 2-time AEW World Champion who should not lose in the first round. But Will Ospreay has a compelling storyline direction with Death Riders that is helping him evolve into a more lethal assassin and should warrant his triumph in this tournament. He has an even stronger case to win since he should win the World Title at All In, which is in his home country.
Chris Jericho, Hurt Syndicate, and The Elite are way too overpowered as a team to lose this faction warfare. Usually, too much star-power like this could lead to ego clashes in pro wrestling. However, Jericho has already taken enough losses to Ricochet and his goons to the point that he needs a big win to solidify his return to AEW. With an all-star team like this, there is no way he is losing again. Darby Allin dethroned MJF in his hometown of Everett, Washington and refused to give MJF a rematch unless he puts his hair on the line. MJF inevitably acquiesced to the “bald” stipulation. The fact that Allin ran through almost the entire roster with title defenses and the fact that AEW is already selling “bald MJF” merch to the fans foreshadows the end of Darby’s run in MJF’s home state of NY.
