After the WrestleMania 42 fallout show of Monday Night Raw 4/27/26, WWE will take over the Sames Auto Arena in Laredo, Texas, for the edition of the show. With Backlash just around the corner, the show is likely going to intensify the build, likely announcing new matches.
Jacob Fatu challenged World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns last week and refused to back down despite the Usos’ attempt during the subsequent edition of SmackDown. Now, the OTC has a decision to make this week. As noted, Jacob Fatu crashed Roman Reigns World Heavyweight title celebration after WrestleMania and challenged the OTC, stating that while he’s not out here to be Tribal Chief, he needs everything that Roman has. Roman asked The Usos (Jimmy & Jey Uso) to talk some sense into Fatu, and the Usos met with Fatu on SmackDown, trying to steer him towards Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes and away from Roman. However, Fatu made his intentions clear, and now Reigns will respond to Fatu’s challenge at Backlash in Texas.
After two main roster call-ups of Sol Ruca and Ethan Page last week, the call-ups will continue this week with the debut of former NXT Champion Joe Hendry. During last week’s show, the promotion announced an appearance from Joe Hendry, who is now officially part of the Monday Night Raw roster (as confirmed by Michael Cole) and will celebrate with a live concert. The newly crowned WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, is scheduled to return to Raw this Monday. The appearance comes following Lynch’s win over AJ Lee at WrestleMania 42, where she regained the title and registered her first win over AJ in the feud, which kicked off with Lee’s return last year in September.
After last week’s brawl with Bron Breakker and his Vision stablemates (Logan Paul & Austin Theory), where he was aided by the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins), Seth Rollins is set to kick off the broadcast in Texas. Furthermore, GM Adam Pearce has also announced two matches. Intercontinental Champion Penta will take on Rusev in a non-title match, while the team of Bayley and Lyra Valkyria will take on Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez with Liv Morgan in their corner. 53 weeks after challenging Randy Orton at WWE WrestleMania 41, Joe Hendry makes his main roster debut. The enigmatic Edinburgh-born superstar will deliver a concert. Expect to wave your hands from side-to-side and say whatever Hendry asks.
Adam Pearce might expect Becky Lynch to fulfil her championship duties as the new women’s Intercontinental Champion. But Lynch will probably want to talk about her new coffee brand Amo, which launches on Monday. Lynch’s husband and co-owner of the coffee company, Seth Rollins, might choose to try to gain some revenge on Bron Breakker. “All Ego” Ethan Page will look to follow up his impressive WWE Raw debut from last week. Sol Ruca was also very impressive in her debut against Liv Morgan last week. But after she took a very dangerous looking bump on WWE NXT, there’s a major doubt over if we will see her again this week.
