AEW taped AEW Collision 4/25/26 following the April 22 AEW Dynamite tapings in Portland, Oregon, and several key matches and storyline developments took place ahead of the next pay-per-view.
FTR addressed Cope and accepted his challenge for Double or Nothing, but they raised the stakes by turning the bout into an I Quit Match. The Conglomeration picked up a win over Lance Archer, Hechicero, and Andrade, with Orange Cassidy scoring the pinfall on Lance Archer to secure the victory. Jericho, “the guy who gets his ass beat by The Demand every week that he shows up” (yet to be trademarked), has hired two partners who would love to show Ricochet some love. The Hurt Syndicate has a history with The Demand. After all, it was this trio that cost them the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Two big powerhouse bruisers on each side are going to knock chunks out of each other. Along with their respective ring generals in Jericho and Ricochet, we’ll see if this is the end or the midpoint of their feud. Result-wise, it will be interesting to see how/if this plays into some fantasy booking some of us have speculated on.
Opponents last week, The Young Bucks and The Rascalz, team up once again. These five individual high-flyers and highlights combine Power Rangers’ megazoid to face the brute force of the hard men of Death Riders and The Dogs. That sounds like an 80s heavy metal band. However, the music these two opposing forces will make will be closer to punk thrash. Expect spots, pops, and hard landings. Finally, a new combination of The Don Callis Family will challenge for the AEW World Trios Championship. Lance Archer, Andrade El Idolo, and Hechicero bring power, finesse, and technicality. Whilst The Conglomeration lacks power, Kyle O’Reilly and Roderick Strong have the experience and finesse to manage Idolo and Hechicero. Cassidy brings a wild-card energy and intelligence that might be enough to take down Lance Archer’s Goliath. But given the hot potato nature of the Trio’s title, who knows what could happen.
