WWE is all set to bring the final stop on the road to Saturday Night’s Main Event this Friday with a stacked episode of SmackDown airing live from the EnMarket Arena in Savannah, Georgia.

The blue brand’s go-home show promises high-stakes action, emotional storytelling, and crucial developments before the May 24 special event at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida. With WWE Money in the Bank 2025 also on the horizon, this week’s episode has major implications for the future of the WWE landscape. From brutal rivalries reaching their boiling point to unexpected alliances and betrayals, Friday Night SmackDown is shaping up to be must-see television.

The show will continue to build hype towards the event as stars set to clash will meet for the final time. The promotion has also announced two MITB Qualifiers along with a WWE Tag Team Championship match where the Champion, Street Profits, will defend the title against Fraxiom. Aleister Black is set to face LA Knight and Shinsuke Nakamura in a qualifying match for the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match. However, his problems with The Miz and Carmelo Hayes might hunt him down during the match as Hayes will likely try to interfere in the match, costing Black and making the feud even more personal.

On last week’s show, Damian Priest, via a pre-recorded promo, challenged Drew McIntyre to a steel cage match at SNME to settle their feud. McIntyre later came out and vowed to end it once and for all in the rematch from WrestleMania 41. Priest will likely make an appearance tonight ahead of the clash, and considering the hatred between the two, the confrontation might turn violent. Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena is set to battle R-Truth in a non-title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. While the match was hinted at after Backlash 2025 and was later made official, the two stars are yet to face off ahead of their clash. The promotion has only aired an interview of R-Truth in the build-up, and it is highly likely that Cena will make his return tonight to cut a promo, hyping up the clash.

The tension between Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre is beyond personal. After losing his title to Priest’s MITB cash-in at WrestleMania 40, the Scottish Warrior has been hell-bent on redemption. They’ve brawled through street fights and battled in fatal four-way matches, but it all comes down to the Steel Cage match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. On the final SmackDown before the cage door locks, emotions will run high, and fists might fly again. R-Truth has spent years being the heart and soul of WWE’s locker room loved by fans and respected by his peers. But this Friday, we could expect him to speak directly to the WWE Universe ahead of his dream match with John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Truth has idolised Cena for years, and their friendly showdown could mark one of the most emotional moments of the year. Expect an honest and heartfelt promo that will remind everyone why R-Truth remains one of WWE’s most beloved underdogs.
