The October 07, 2024 episode of Monday Night Raw will be aired live from the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missourie, United States. It is the Bad Blood fall-out episode of Raw and will kick-start the two hours version of the show. WWE has booked some of the interesting matches and segments for the show including two title matches.
WWE Raw is coming off an epic WWE Bad Blood 2024 PLE Event, where CM Punk finally put Drew McIntyre to sleep inside Hell in a Cell, Liv Morgan retained the World Title against Rhea Ripley thanks to the surprising return of Raquel Rodriguez, and Damian Priest defeated Finn Balor as revenge for costing him the World Title against Gunther at SummerSlam. Now, WWE is continuing its road to WWE Survivor Series 2024, where they will likely have War Games Matches for both the men's and women's divisions. Those teams should become clearer, starting with this week's episode of Raw.
This week, three matches have been officially scheduled: Gunther (c) vs. Sami Zayn for the World Title, Sheamus vs. Peter Dunne in a Donnybrook Match, and Jey Uso (c) vs. Xavier Woods for the IC Title. In other news regarding WWE Raw, Seth Rollins returned last week to screw Bronson Reed in his Last Monster Standing Match against Braun Strowman in the main event as payback for the plethora of Tsunamis he sustained weeks ago. Pure Fusion Collective are still feuding with Zelina Vega and company. Also, Killer Kross not only elicited dissension in The New Day but also Awesome Truth. With that being said, the following will focus on the two scheduled title matches, the Donnybrook Match, and the idea of Gunther burying Sami Zayn on the road to WWE Survivor Series 2024.
Gunther will be defending his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Sami Zayn in a singles match this Monday. The match is expected to main event the show and is a WrestleMania 40 rematch, but for a different title. As per speculations, Gunther will defeat Sami Zayn to retain his world title, showcasing domination. Gunther has a big target on his back, as Seth Rollins, Damian Priest, CM Punk, and even Goldberg have a claim to his championship right now, as substantiated by recent events. Rollins and Priest both have rematch clauses for that title. Punk made it clear that he is targeting Gunther after he is finished with McIntyre. And finally, Goldberg already said that Gunther is NEXT.
Sheamus will defeat Pete Dunne in this Donnybrook Match to get revenge for his loss to Dunne in their match on Raw two weeks ago. This has been an ongoing feud due to their history in the Brawling Brutes. Dunne has not elucidated his reasons for betraying Sheamus, but it seems he felt overlooked in that group, especially when he was named Butch. If that is the case, Dunne is smart to make a name for himself against a former World Champion in Sheamus. However, Sheamus is more geared for future title opportunities in the mid card, as he still needs the IC Title to fulfill his Grand Slam.
Jey Uso will be defending his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Xavier Woods of the New Day in a singles match. This is the first ever title defense for Jey and is a must win match for Woods. As per speculations, an accidental involvement from Kofi Kingston could cause Woods his title match, resulting in Woods turning on Kofi. After weeks and weeks of sneak attacks using weapons, Sheamus will be facing Pete Dunne in a Good Ol’ Fashioned Donnybrook Match. It is basically a no disqualification match, with an Irish Gimmick, where a number of weapons can be used. As per speculations, Sheamus will defeat Dunne to win the match and end the rivalry.
